A&M OKs $450M Remodel of Kyle Field Into Texas' Biggest Stadium

Update: The Texas A&M Board of Regents approved the university’s $450 million plan to redevelop Kyle Field into the biggest stadium in Texas (by seating capacity). Demolition work on the existing stadium is slated to begin in November this year, with plans for a grand opening in time for the 2015 football season.

A&M "Religious Funding" Bill Vetoed

A bill passed in the Texas A&M student senate died Friday after the university faced public criticism.

Texas A&M student body president John Claybrook vetoed the "Religious Funding Exemption Bill,” which would have allowed students to opt-out of funding the campus’ Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Resource Center.

Texas to be Home to Vaccine Manufacturing Facility

Texas will be home to a new world-class vaccine manufacturing facility that will lead to the creation of 6,800 jobs and the generation of $41 billion in economic activity over the next quarter century.

That’s what Gov. Rick Perry said in making the announcement Tuesday at the Capitol.

Bill Would Require Annual UT vs. A&M Football Game

A bill that would require the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University to face each other on the football field every year was filed on Monday by state Rep.Ryan Guillen, D-Rio Grande City.

The two flagship universities had a longstanding football rivalry, playing each other every year from 1914 until this past season. That all came to an end in 2012 following A&M's move to the Southeastern Conference.

Sorry, A&M Fans: The UT Tower Wasn’t Lit Up for Johnny Football

On Saturday night, following Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel’s Heisman win, some Aggies got so carried away by their excitement that they saw the man called “Johnny Football” everywhere.

The University of Texas’s December graduation also took place on Saturday.  It’s the university’s tradition to light the clock tower orange, with the windows lit to form the class year of the graduates.  So Saturday night, the clock tower bore a giant 12, in honor of the 2012 graduating class.
