Ginobli Awakens, Leads Spurs To Game 5 Win

With a 114-104 victory against the Miami Heat last night in San Antonio, the Spurs are just one win away from their fifth NBA title.

"Manu Ginobili's NBA Finals slump is over and at the best possible time for his team. The Spurs' All-Star shooting guard scored a season-high 24 points and had 10 assists to help lead San Antonio to the brink of another championship.

Spurs Blow Out The Heat, Take 2-1 Lead In NBA Finals

The Spurs were red hot Tuesday night, not the Heat.

San Antonio blew out Miami in Game 3 of the NBA finals, winning 113-77 and taking a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Led by Danny Green and Gary Neal, the Spurs went on a tear — hitting a Finals record 16 shots from beyond the three-point arc. As NPR's Tom Goldman said on Morning Edition, "Miami melted into the hardwood like the wicked witch of the west" as San Antonio hit shot after shot.

Alamo Bowl Promoted to Top Big 12 Contest

The Alamo Bowl could soon be the biggest game in the Big 12 bowl season under a new six-year deal with the Pac-12 announced Friday.

Next year, top ranked Big 12 and Pac-12 contenders outside the new four-team college football playoff will face off in the bowl game that started in 1993. The Cotton Bowl had previously been the signature game for Big 12 teams that didn't make the Bowl Championship Series.
