Update: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that a proposed Schlitterbahn water park development would be reduced in size. While the new development would exclude the hotel and retail components included in a previous project, the water park would remain at 16-acres. The post has since been corrected.

A Schlitterbahn Water Park Resort planned for Cedar Park is no longer happening, but city officials hope they can strike a new deal that would retain the water park component. 

A new Schiltterbahn water park will open in two years in Cedar Park. It’s slated to be smaller than the New Braunfels location. Officials say plans for the park take into consideration frequent drought conditions in Central Texas, much like the region is experiencing now.
