Watch Austin Mayoral Candidates Debate Live
Most times candidates take to the airwaves, they have to pay for the privilege. Not so today, as broadcaster KXAN is televising a forum this afternoon with Austin's mayoral candidates.
KXAN shares the details:
Incumbent Lee Leffingwell will be up against challengers Brigid Shea and Clay Dafoe at the event in the Bass Lecture Hall of the LBJ School of Public Affairs.
Joining KXAN News as sponsors are The Austin American-Statesman, Community Impact Newspaper and the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs. KXAN News Anchor Robert Hadlock will moderate.
The event gets underway at 12:15 p.m. You can watch a live stream of the debate, or watch on TV on KXAK channel 36.
Another local station, KVUE, is getting in on the action as well later tonight, hosting a forum with the mayoral and council candidates:
Monday’s debate is at the Phillips Event Center in Northeast Austin at 8140 Exchange Drive. The debate runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. All voters are invited to attend. Following the debate there will be an hour of meet and greet time between attendees and the candidates. KVUE’s Terri Gruca will moderate the debate.
