Governor Perry Asks Texans to Pray for Rain
Governor Rick Perry is asking Texans to pray... a lot.
The Governor has proclaimed the next three days as “Days of Prayer for Rain in the State of Texas.” He is asking all people of different kinds of faith and religion to offer prayers for rain.
“It is fitting that Texans should join together in prayer to humbly seek an end to this ongoing drought and these devastating wildfires, and for the safety of the brave firefighters and emergency management officials who have worked tirelessly to protect lives and property around the state.”
Praying for rain in Texas is common enough as the drought that brings them. Check out this TV news story where people in New Braunfels prayed to thank God for rain after a much need rain shower. Tom Green County officials last week asked people to pray for rain.
Rain would be a welcoming sign for Texas whether miracle or not because “where I come from…rain is a good thing. ”
