$20 Million Gift For St. Edwards
St. Edwards University has received the largest single-gift in its history. Austinites Pat and Bill Munday gave a cash gift of $20 million dollars to the Catholic university. The money will be used to provide scholarships for up to 150 students per year.
“Every nickel I’ve ever given to Saint Edward’s has been used wisely," Bill Munday said in a news release. In 2011, the Mundays donated $13 million for a new library at Saint Edwards. Until today, that had been the largest single gift ever donated to Saint Edwards.
Today's cash injection inflates Saint Edwards' endowment by 38 percent, bringing it to almost $78 million.
